SPEAKER PANEL - Dr. Tracy Jones, Dr. Claudia I. Kidd, and Dr. John Louis; moderated by Kyle Spears, LMFT

Dr. Jones has been a disciple since 1996, a mental health counselor since 1997 and has her Doctoral Degree from Liberty University. Her research area includes the use of Christian meditation as clinical intervention. She has provided mental health workshops for churches, presented at conferences, published research, worked as a clinician, clinical director as well as an adjunct professor. She is a member of the leadership team at CrossPoint Clinical Services in MA. Tracy is married and has 4 children.

Married for almost 37 years and in the full time ministry for almost 40 years, John and Karen Louis have been in Asia since 1988 to help start and oversee churches in what’s known in the ICOC as "the SEA Region”: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand. They have now retired from being salaried in the full-time ministry and have moved to Dallas, Texas. The Louis spend most of their time now helping churches and families become healthy suing their Good Enough Parenting model (https://goodenoughparenting.com ). John has published many peer reviewed reputable journals on concepts used in their parenting model and schema therapy. He is now an Adjunct Professor with the department of psychology with one of the top private universities in Malaysia and is a clinical supervisor, and registered counselor with the Singapore Association for Counseling. Karen has a Master in Counselling, is a certified Clifton Strengths coach, and a Master Solution Focused Practitioner. They now enjoy their newest grandparent role and are proud of their two children who are disciples and happily married to wonderful spouses.

Dr. Claudia I. Kidd is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and received a M.S. from Boston University and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She has
spent several years working with birth, foster and adoptive parents within the child welfare system. She currently works as a clinician with CrossPoint Counseling Services. Claudia has been a disciple for
32 years and enjoys using the word of God to help individuals, couples and families grow.

Kyle Spears was formally recognized as a Teacher in December 2021. He works as is a Licensed Independent
Mental Health Practitioner and Certified Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Nebraska. He works in private practice at the Attachment and Trauma Center of Nebraska utilizing EMDR in working with Complex Trauma, PTSD, and DID. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, he works to help heal marriages and complex family issues. He also specializes in helping men with trauma, masculinity, and depression.

He has a Bachelor’s of the Psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and went on to complete a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University. For the last four years he has been pursuing a Biblical degree beginning at Rocky Mountain School of Ministry in theology and is currently pursuing a Masters of Theology at Harding school of the theology. His area of focus is the integration of trauma and theology and his master’s thesis research is in the area of biblical humanity.

Kyle’s ministry includes his YouTube channel, podcast, and blog and has a website where people can go to get resources for issues that relate to trauma and theology. He is also working on a book with Michael Burns called the “The Great Lie” that will address the aspect of racial and intergenerational trauma. Kyle is concurrently working on a book that will directly address the issue of trauma as a Christian while simultaneously providing a process of healing.

What do we do when we are out of answers and the stakes are high? One of the more confusing issues is when we feel called to sacrifice for the good of others while also making sure that we are taking care of ourselves. There are a variety of deeply complex situations parents are facing in modern times. In this panel discussion, we will address the challenges in a practical manner with experts who have decades of experience.
