Dr. Ajab Amin
Ajabeyang Amin, PsyD, MPH is a licensed psychologist, Christian counselor, and writer. She obtained her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University, and her Master’s in Public Health from University of Michigan. Her doctoral research explored culturally sensitive approaches in working with African immigrant populations in the U.S. She has worked in college counseling, community counseling, and Christian counseling centers. Her areas of interests include life transitions, emerging adulthood, self-worth and identity concerns, mood disorders, navigating pressure and boundaries, multicultural concerns, and faith issues. She also enjoys doing workshops to raise awareness of mental health within churches and African immigrant communities. Ajab currently sees adults in her private practice while working with older adults in a geriatric rehab facility. She founded the website, African Mind Healer where she writes on the intersection of mental health, culture, and the Christian faith. She is the author of Not Far From the Truth on similar topics. She is part of the Greater Philadelphia Church of Christ’s singles ministry.
